IT’S OUR TIME (stewarding the move of God)

Time is probably one of humanity’s most valuable assets. It’s so valuable that once you use it, it can never be reclaimed or reused. Each person has their allotted amount of time, but the problem is we don’t know the amount of time we are given. Romans 13:11 says this “to live like this is all the more urgent, for time is running out and you know it is a strategic hour in human history. It is time for us to wake up! (TPT). Eph. 5:15 says “Be very careful how you live and act. Let it not be as unwise, but as wise. Redeeming the time because the days are evil “(Worsley).

One of the most important things for us as believers is to be cognizant of the time, we are in. We must be like the sons of Issachar who knew how discern or understand the times (1Chron. 12;32). We must be focused and understand what is happening right now in the kingdom of God and in the world. We are in one of the most impacting and vital time of history. We are entering what I believe to be the 3rd Great Awakening that our country has experienced. We must understand not just the importance of this time, but also the importance of handling and tending or stewarding what God is doing in this time. When talking about revival or awakening, we tend to speak either of the past, (What God did) or the future, (What God is going to do), and spend way too little time concentrating on what God is doing right now. Most revival language is futuristic, when it should be addressing what God is doing right now. Don’t get me wrong it’s a faith builder and hunger creator to look back on what God did in past manifestations, but we don’t live in those times, they are gone and cannot be reclaimed. We should look forward to what God has promised to do, it’s how we exercise our faith, and begin to prepare and be ready for the manifestation that’s coming. Both are important, but we cannot steward the past, or the future, we are to steward what God is doing right now. If we are always talking about and obsessed with what’s coming, we run the danger of becoming so intoxicated with the future that we forget about being good stewards of the move of God taking place right now. This time right now is our responsibility! Our unhealthy preoccupation with what God is going to do has robbed us of being effective in our time of visitation. If we live with “the move of God is coming”, We will never see the responsibility we have for our time of blessing and outpouring. We must understand that “NOW” is our time, our moment. Now is what we are responsible for, what we will give account for. Now is the time that has been entrusted to us.

The Holman Bible Dictionary defines stewardship as “Utilizing and managing all the resources God provides for his Glory”. In other words, being a good steward is our obligation to recognize, prioritize and utilize intelligently all the gifts God is releasing in this time. A good farmer uses everything at his disposal for one reason, to maximize the harvest. It’s the same in the spirit, God gives us gifts to utilize so that the harvest is as great as it can be. We are taught how to be good stewards of time, money and other things, but equally important is being a good steward of the move of God and the manifestation of his presence among us. If we don’t take time to tend and carefully steward his presence now, we will miss the eternal rewards we could have reaped, seeing them poured out on future generations, always living in a “What could have been” existence. God is not willing to waste his manifest presence on those who refuse to steward it, reverence it and take care of it properly.

So, how do we steward revival and awakening, what God is doing right now? First, we must stop the “one day, someday” language. When Jesus started his earthly ministry, he boldly proclaimed “the Kingdom of God Is here (MT. 4:17). he also said that “the Kingdom of God is in you. (Lk. 17:21)”. That means it is available, within reach, accessible for us. It’s not a political or governmental overthrow in the natural realm, it’s the dismantling of the satanic influence of evil evident in our society right now. It is people understanding they have been given the right to proclaim the arrival of God’s Kingdom here and now. Second, stop praying for revival and awakening to come, and live, talk and act like it’s here! What am I saying? Stop praying for God to send something he has already sent. We spend too much time praying, begging, singing and petitioning God for something he has already released to us on the day of Pentecost. We must stop praying for a new Pentecost and start walking and living in what has already been given to us, access what’s already been manifested. God is moving right now, and we are the people he has chosen to manifest his presence through right now. We must rise up and be responsible for the “Right now. It’s our time.
